Affordable editing for child authors is hard to find. So many authors (especially child and teen authors) skip editing altogether, and the book reviews show it. A big part of helping your child produce a book is getting it edited. Editing normally is a hefty expense, but we’ve come up with a way to make it much more affordable while still ensuring quality.
Affordable Editing for Child Authors
Here’s how it works.
- You send us one chapter from the middle of the book and pay ten cents per word.
- We edit that chapter, and while we are doing that, we create a screen capture video of the editing process and explain the changes we’re making and the errors we’re correcting. Then we send the video and the edited chapter back to you.
- You use the video and edited chapter as a guide and go through the rest of the manuscript, making the same types of changes we did, correcting as many of the errors as you can.
Then, you’re welcome to send the entire manuscript in for a much-reduced editing rate. Because you will have found most of the errors, it will be far less work for us, and we’ll be able to charge very little for it (three cents a word). That covers the editing, and it covers the proofreading that comes after the book is laid out/formatted for publication.
You end up with a professionally edited book for a fraction of the price. Your readers receive a book that is high quality, and your reviews will reflect the valuable editing you received. No one needs to know you were brilliant and got such a great deal.
Email your chapter to Submissions @ HarshmanServices.com, and you’ll receive an invoice where you can submit your payment. We’ll have your chapter and video to you in about a week, and then you can polish up the rest of your book and learn some things in the process.
