Would you like a book that helps you be more creative? Wouldn’t it be nice to pull one off your shelf any time you get stuck? Then you could just thumb through it, get the inspiration you need, and get back to work!
A book that helps you be more creative
Roger von Oech should be considered a hero, because everybody needs A Kick in the Seat of the Pants sometimes. Sometimes we get blocked and feel like we can’t come up with any ideas. Other times, we shoot down every idea that occurs to us, not giving anything a chance. In either case, we need a nudge in the creativity department. In this book that helps you be more creative, this author gives you just that—and it’s enjoyable.
The author, Roger von Oech, consulted for giants such as General Foods, Hallmark Cards, Hewlett-Packard, NASA, and Procter & Gamble, helping employees create new products and processes. His books bring some of that powerful knowledge to us—at a much lower price! This book came out in 1986. Lest you think that’s too old, let me assure you that the principles are just as true today as they ever were. This author’s books are workhorses. They are not “read once and forget” books. I didn’t just read them. I use them. I should order another copy of this one, because it’s falling apart from use—especially around pages 43, 55, and 96.
The subtitle is Using Your Explorer, Artist, Judge and Warrior To Be More Creative. True to the promise, it walks readers through each of those roles in order, and in that specific order for a reason. Find out why when you get your copy. Follow Jack to the Idea Doctor, and come away with many fresh ideas of your own. You’ll have a creativity tool at your fingertips for life. Just click the image.
You might like another book by him, too: A Whack on the Side of the Head. The titles sound a little violent, but they are fun and helpful books.

Oooh! I’m getting this! 😀 I’m doing a lot of copywriting recently, and the creative side of me feels a little stagnant.
Another book I REALLY like is “The War of Art” by Stephen Pressfield.
