Launch by Jeff Walker
Launch by Jeff Walker is a how-to online-marketing book. It’s a fast read that had me taking notes. I already know quite a bit about online business and marketing, so to say I was taking notes is a pretty good compliment.
Jeff Walker’s approach is something new, and according to the many case studies he shows, it works. I was glad that he didn’t get into a lot of detail on the basics because that’s beyond the scope of his book, but he explains enough that even a beginner can follow along and know what to look up. The book focuses on the what, why, and how of what he calls his Pre-Launch Formula.
Product Launch Formula
The Product Launch Formula, or PLF, is a roadmap for how to do an income-generating launch of a product—and it doesn’t have to be a physical product. Membership websites, online infoproducts, ebooks, ecourses…these are just some of the formats your product might take.
Launch by Jeff Walker tells the stories of several people, such as “from food stamps to millionaire.” Some of the stories are amazing, but don’t get the idea that this is one of those get-rich-quick books, because it’s not. It may take months to get ready for your first launch, and that’s if you already have something to sell. There is work involved, make no mistake, but he makes the reader dream: it is within reach.
He walks readers through the process of doing a launch, stressing the importance of certain aspects repeatedly throughout the book. I intuitively did some of the things he suggests back when I released my ebook Writer Program: Nitty Gritty, but I had an important piece missing. I’m going to be implementing the formula outlined in this book and sending Jeff Walker feedback on my experience. If you’re looking for a new way of doing things, read Launch by Jeff Walker—and have a highlighter handy.
