Self-Care for writers and editors
You’ll notice that many of the products I recommend for self-care for writers and editors have to do with comfort. That only makes sense. Many writers and editors live with chronic pain, as do I. We work long hours sitting in an office chair. Comfort is really important to our productivity.
Some of the products relate to health and body care that may or may not contribute directly to comfort. They’re still helpful, so please consider making them part of your life. Having a good footrest and tailbone cushion means being able to work in comfort for at least twice as long.
Here’s a trackball mouse, which will save your shoulder a lot of wear and tear.
This ergonomically designed, fully adjustable chair allowed me to work for 12 hours straight without pain. I cannot tell you how amazing that is for a chronic pain sufferer! When I worked at a learning center, this was the only kind of chair allowed in the building because it increases the focus, stamina, and productivity of the users—perfect for a learning center. It’s also perfect for writers, editors, and other business owners. It’s called the Hag Capisco (the A sounds like the A in taco), and it is worth every penny. Comfort foods to buy online
As a perpetually thirsty person (thank you, diabetes), I drink water, coffee, and tea all day long. I like a variety, and I recommend that you try Adagio Teas for delicious and soothing drinks while you work.
Everybody knows that writers and editors eat chocolate—for some, it’s massive amounts of chocolate—so click that pretty little banner right there, and take a look at the gorgeous and delectable bites.
Or try this best-selling variety pack of cookies.
If you’re going for organic snacks, try Annie’s. Every product I’ve tried from them has been of high quality (and tasty).
Are you diabetic or otherwise looking to limit your carbohydrate intake? These are delicious. I never would have guessed they aren’t regular candies. Mint-flavored foods can be overpowering, but this has the perfect balance, in my opinion.
Scents
Essential oil diffusers are an excellent choice for most of the year. Because they put out a cool mist, they make cause your workspace to feel too chilly in the winter. During the winter, try scented candles like these:
