Many Creatives are “right-brain thinkers” and find mind maps helpful for organizing ideas. In an email to my special subscribers and in a post about using mind maps for writing books, I explained the concept and mentioned a free mind map starter sheet. Here are the simple steps for using a mind map.
Write the title or topic in the shape in the middle. Write one main aspect of that topic in another shape. Repeat as many times as needed. If you run out of shapes and need more, just add more. It’s okay to grab another sheet of paper or to print multiple copies of the free mind map starter sheet below. On the lines, write down the details or minor aspects. Your mind map does not have to be neat or pretty. Just keep thinking of things and writing them on your paper.
